UPK (4 to 5 Years Old)

18 children maximum with 2 teachers

UPK began in New York State in 1997, as part of the Educational Reform Legislation. The goal is to provide quality early learning experiences for all four year old children, regardless of the socio-economic status of their family. UPK allows for six and a half hours of free education.

New Milestone's UPK curriculum is based off of the New York State Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core, which is a "framework that focuses on learning and development for the 4 year old child. The primary purpose of prekindergarten standards is to ensure that all children with disabilities, students with Limited English Proficiency (LEP), and English Language Learners (ELLs) have rich and varied early learning experiences that prepare them for success in school and lay the foundation for college career readiness."
